Orbie Dodson "O.D." Cook Jr.

Orbie "O.D." Cook Jr. died peacefully at Momence Meadows Nursing Home in Momence, IL on August 31, 2017 at the age of 88. Orbie is survived and will be greatly missed by his brother Wayne (Shelba) Cook of Cadiz, KY and son Jerry (Tina) Cook of Grant Park, IL. Orbie was the proud grandfather of 5: Greg (Kristi) Cook, Tami Cook (Tim Millard) of Palos Hills, IL, Renee Cook (Chris Watson) of Phoenix, AZ, Jeremy Cook of Hobart, IN, Calvin Cook of Grant Park, IL; cherished great-grandfather to 6 and great great-grandfather to 1; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Orbie was preceded in death by his loving wife Alceon Cook, son Greg (Bonnie) Cook and devoted companion Katherine Betson.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life with a memorial gathering on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Castle Hill Funeral Home: 1219 Sheffield Avenue, Dyer, IN 46311 from 11am-1pm. A service will be officiated by Rev. Charles Niblick at 12:30 p.m. followed by Military Honors. A luncheon in his honor will follow.

Orbie honorably served in the United States Army. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Quincy Illinois Veterans Home, Vitas Hospice Care and Momence Nursing Home for the care and concern for Orbie and his family during his illness.
